Yet, we cannot but wonder if these characters and the actors will return to season 3 or if there’s something else that will define their fate. Who are The Cast Members of Black Summer Season 3?
The major characters to return to Black Summer season 3 are Rose (Jaime King), Anna (Zoe Marlett), Sun (Christine Lee), and definitely a lot of zombies.
Rose has always been a protagonist in the series and may continue being one in season 3. One other aspect of her life that will continue is her place as Anna’s mother and a zombie fighter. This would not stop us from wondering if she would make it through the ordeals of saving herself, her daughter, and others from the zombies.
Anna’s role is that of a young girl and daughter of Rose who was captured by the zombies. Judging from the end of season 2, there is more about her character that definitely needs to be explored.
This being said, you may wonder what happened to the other major characters in season 2 and why they won’t make it back to the third season of the series. Well, a number of these characters were killed. Here is a list and when they died.
- Spears (Justin Chu Cary) was killed by Anna in episode 7, season 2
- Sonny (Dakota Daulby) was killed in episode 3 of season 2 by Anna
- Sophie (Linda Kee) died in episode 8, season 2
- The zombified Boone (Manuel Rodriguez-Saenz) was killed in episode 8 of season 2
- Rhonda (Kumiko Konishi) died in episode 3 of season 2
So What’s the Story of Black Summer Season 3?
It is definitely a continuation of the season that is expected in Black Summer Season 3. If the season stays true to how it transitioned from seasons 1 and 2, a better story, characters, and perhaps more intensity would be developed in season 3. If not, there may be a little fall – or not!
Season 2 ended with a wounded protagonist, Rose and Sun making it to the plane. Anna determines to save her mother kills many zombies and Sophie; and makes it to her mother.
The pilot of the plane communicates to Sun in Korean, telling her they are going far. Perhaps, Black Summer season 3 will tell how far the journey will be if they succeed and what the fate of Anna, her mother, and Nazeri will be.
A little look into the growth of the series shows that there have been better reviews over time. The movie aggregate, Rotten Tomatoes gives Black Summer Season 1 a 75% review and an audience score of 57%.
The rating went up in season 2 with an aggregate score of 100% reviews of Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer and a 66% audience score.
The score growth and the unanswered questions in the second season are good enough for the audience to expect better answers to the lingering questions from season 2.
